Is deep relaxation possible without taking your clothes off

I can honestly say I haven’t yet found anything that makes me feel as deeply relaxed as a full reiki session.

I describe it as a ‘reset button’ for body and mind. If you are feeling out of sorts and not yourself but can’t quite put your finger on why… reiki is the answer.

Here are some things that clients often remark at the end of their reiki session:

  • “I feel more refreshed now than I did when I woke up this morning”

  • “I slept so well the night after I came for my reiki session”

  • “I felt like I was flying around the Austrian Alps”

  • “I floated off into a beautiful meadow”

  • “Think I nodded off, hope I didn’t snore” 😊

My reply to that last one is always, “I often put people to sleep in here and if you snore I honestly don’t hear it.”

If I can make someone feel relaxed and comfortable enough that are able to fall asleep, I’ve done a good job!

A full reiki session takes 50-60 minutes. You remain fully clothed throughout and have the option to lay on top or under a fluffy blanket depending on how warm you think you might get and how you feel most comfortable. During the winter months, I’ll even pop on the heated bed warmer if you want to feel extra cosy and relaxed.

You just lie back and do nothing while I hover my hands over different areas of your body called chakra points or energy centres. It’s usually a silent treatment so you don’t have to make forced conversation and can fully relax into the moment (some clients with ADHD do prefer to chat during their treatment and that’s totally fine too).

Things you may experience during a reiki treatment include sensations of heat or cold, tingling, pins and needles, heaviness in the limbs, floating and sleepiness, but the main experience is usually of deep relaxation and peace.

Some clients see colours and may experience shifts in energy or a release of pent-up emotion, but every session is different.

It typically takes a set of three sessions to build up enough reiki in your system to reap maximum reward, but many clients feel better after even just one session. A regular ‘top up’ session every four to eight weeks then helps maintain the benefits long-term.

In my experience there is no health condition that cannot be improved by including reiki as part of your self-care plan, but it is most commonly booked by clients looking for support with insomnia, high-level stress, pain management or anxiety.

If you think that reiki could be a good fit for you then you can book a session via the online booking session as a standalone Reiki Relaxation session, or as part of an Indian Head Massage with Reiki or De-stress Wellbeing Package.
