When one leads to many

This month I have been sharing stories of personal transformation experienced by some of my clients recently.

You can catch up on the two I’ve shared so far:

In this blog post, I want to share not only the story from my client’s perspective but also how working with her has changed my own life too…

Client 3 is a teacher who originally came to me in April 2023 for a head massage and holistic facial during the Easter holidays. She had realised she was close to burn out and needed some extra self-care to get her through the next term.

She enjoyed her initial session, but as we chatted it became apparent to us both that she needed more than just some pampering to restore her wellbeing again.

She was experiencing lots of negative thinking, was often grumpy with her husband and children, wanted to make plans to do fun things; but found when it came to it, she felt unmotivated or too tired to actually go through with them. She put extra pressure on herself by always striving for perfectionism and felt like a failure when she could not live up to these unrealistic standards, she had set for herself.

In her own words…

“I was at a point last year where I felt that something had to give. I was fed up, stressed out, anxious and really negative.

“I felt I was just at the bottom of a hole. Not enough to see a doctor about but just someone who could work with me and support me.”

She decided to sign up and work with me one-to-one on my Wellbeing Boost coaching programme.

Over the next few months, we worked on everything from understanding what really matters to her and her core values, coping with the negative inner voice, practicing self-compassion, time-management and building stress-resilience through simple, daily habits.

We built up her mindfulness practice and filled her self-care tool kit with simple strategies she can draw on when work and life make it tougher to practice self-care.

She has made huge strides forward, so much so that now she has the confidence and resilience to take on a new role and more responsibility at work - oh, and her husband has definitely noticed a difference in her too 😊

I’ve been so inspired by the work we have done, and continue to do together, that it has made me want to work with even more people in the education sector and support them in the same way but on a larger scale.

Teaching and education are an incredibly stressful profession, with numerous challenges for physical health, emotional health, work/life balance and personal resilience. Schools do an incredibly important job educating and caring for our next generation but too many are finding the challenges of the job are pushing them over the edge physically and mentally or even to leave the profession altogether.

This is why I have created a brand new School Staff Wellbeing Solutions programme for schools and individual education staff, so I can share what I have been doing with this one client with a much wider audience.

If you work in education, or have family and friends that do so, please share the link above with them so I can help as many of them as possible as we approach the start of another academic year.

My Wellbeing Boost is also still available for anyone who needs a cheerleader to support them in making a meaningful change and improve their wellbeing, confidence, career or just to be less grumpy with their husbands or kids 😊

When I started working with this one client, I definitely did not see this being the result. But as I always say, “the universe works in mysterious ways” and I am thrilled it has led me in this particular direction!
